Jennifer Sarver, Director of Education at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts,
read When A Line Bends, A Shape Begins to the Pre-Kindergarten class at Rome Grade School on November 3.  Relating to the story, she then asked the preschoolers and family members to apply several pieces of masking tape to a sheet of paper randomly and sponge paint different colors over it. 
When the tape was removed, the children were amazed
with their original art.  Pre-K teacher Anne Brands and Pre-K Parent Advocates April Rubenacker and Jenny Hicks assisted with the project. 
Sarver is scheduled to present the program at several
of the Jefferson County Pre-K programs that
are part of a county-wide grant administered by Mount Vernon City Schools, District 80 and funded by the Illinois State Board of Education.
