Channel 3 weather forecaster Jim Rasor spoke to parents, students, and staff in the Summersville Pre-K program on March 20.  He asked that they remember to stay away from rushing water when playing outside, taught them that "When thunder roars, move indoors," and that when there is a tornado warning or severe weather, they should go to the basement or in the middle of their house, away from all windows and doors.  He also emphasized remaining calm and quiet so that they could listen & hear what was happening around them, in case they had to change to a different safe place inside.  Finally, Mr. Rasor suggested that if the children and adults have bicycle or football helmets, they should keep them handy to wear when they take cover.  That, he said, would be good protection to keep their heads safe from flying debris.
